Things under the 2023 Chevrolet Malibu engine are not expected to change for the new year. The current sedan comes with a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 160 horsepower as standard.

There is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine with 250 hp of power. The base engine is equipped with a continuously variable automatic transmission, while the larger 2.0-liter engine has a nine-speed automatic transmission.
