2022 Camaro: The New Future Chevy Camaro Looks Like

Posted on

2022 Camaro There’s nothing more pleasing than hearing the tune of a throbbing exhaust sound or feeling the satisfying feedback of a finely tuned steering system while flying on a winding road.

Few affordable cars offer both of these satisfying sensations, but the Chevy Camaro is one of them. However, it doesn’t just focus on being loud and going fast – although it does both tasks very well.

The Chevy two-door pony car comes as a coupe or convertible and offers a multitude of features and countless personalization options.

Whereas the 2022 Camaro ZL1 650-h is the most rugged version – and reviewed separately – every model from the base four-cylinder to the V-6 to the V-8 can be upgraded for track duty with the transformational 1LE package.

2022 Camaro ZL1 Review

Sure, the interior can feel claustrophobic and has a few other quirks, but the Chevy Camaro 2021 is primarily aimed at those who like to drive. Like us.

Chevy perfects the 2022 Camaro with several color choices, new features, and the availability of a wider transmission.

While Rally Green metallic and Garnet Red Tintcoat have been removed from the paint palette, Wild Cherry Tincoat is now on offer – with additional coins.

All models now come with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which means apps can be streamed to the car’s infotainment system without needing to be plugged in.

The track-oriented 1LE package is now available with a 10-speed automatic transmission on the powerful V- Model SS 8. Previously, all 1LEs (except for the ZL1 1LE) were only offered with a six-speed manual.

2022 Camaro News

This new color comes after having had a bad sales year. Sales of sports cars for the Chevrolet trio (Camaro, Corvette, and Silverado) are falling during these difficult times. However, nothing is as bad as the Chevrolet Camaro.

2022 camaro potential powertrain enhancements for SS and ZL1 models

Even though 2020 was indeed a bad year for almost every carmaker, sales of the Chevrolet Camaro fell nearly 40 percent to 29,775 units.

We don’t know how well sales will recover in 2021. But clearly, for the next model in 2022, the color of this car will turn blue.

Of course, Chevrolet has a certain reason so that this two-door car gets its new color, especially to attract buyers and thus increase sales.

Yes, the upcoming Chevrolet Camaro 2022 will get a new color that was once exclusive to the new Chevrolet Corvette C8.

Chevrolet did not break the news about the new Camaro hue in its announcement of three Chevy vehicles, the nickname Chevrolet, that will take part in this year’s Daytona 500.

The three cars: Camaro, Corvette, and Silverado are painted in Rapid Blue which is paired with black and red.

Although the color that was once exclusive to the Chevrolet Corvette will only be an available option for the Chevrolet Camaro 2022.

So, apologize to the Chevrolet Silverado fans who wanted a color change.

The new Rapid Blue Chevrolet Camaro will join forces in Dark Riverside Blue Metallic. However, it’s unclear whether this paint color costs a premium.

What is clear, other premium paint for the Chevrolet Camaro costs up to 495 US dollars (around Rp. 6.9 million).

Auto enthusiasts will see this new blue Chevrolet Camaro in action and show off at the Daytona 500 weekend racing event.

The event will start this weekend. While the big race is scheduled to be held on Sunday (14/2/2021).

The Chevrolet Camaro will start the Xfinity Series race on Saturday (13/2/2021), while the Chevrolet Corvette gets its turn on Sunday (14/2/2020).

The new color of the Chevrolet Camaro has actually been heard since rumors continued to circulate about its future.

A report from late last year indicated that Chevy would discontinue the model in 2026. Previous rumors had it that 2023 would be the last year of the Chevrolet Camaro.

General Motors as a manufacturer also neither confirmed nor denied these rumors.

Seeing as sales have not been moving in the right direction so far, this new blue will doubtless attract customers to the driver’s seat.

The Chevrolet Camaro is currently in its sixth generation. First sold for the 2016 model year.

2022 Camaro Redesign

The Chevrolet 2022 Camaro arrived in 2016 as a completely redesigned model with a much more modern design than the previous model year.

Entering its seventh model year on sale, we expect the Chevrolet Camaro 2022 to become the default model.

When Chevrolet launched the 2016 Camaro, it introduced a modern and aggressive design to the sports car. In 2019, Chevy updated the design of the Camaro, which we expect will remain the same for 2022.

The Chevy Camaro will have thin headlights, wide airways, and a prominent hood at the front. Rectangular taillights, a large tailpipe, and a chiseled rear bumper help the existing Camaro look an angry one.

It is expected to offer four engines with Chevrolet 2022 Camaro. The A 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine will be standard with 275 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The 3.6-liter V6 engine is the next step forward and offers 335 hp and 284 lb-ft of torque. The SS trim comes with a 6.2-liter V8 engine producing 455 hp and 455 lb-ft of torque.

A supercharged version of the V8 engine is available which produces 650 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque.

The V6 and V8 engines come with a 10-speed automatic transmission, while a six-speed manual transmission is offered in each engine.

The current 2022 Chevy Camaro doesn’t offer many features in terms of standard safety features and we hope it will stay that way for 2022.

Rearview cameras and a teen driver system will be standard. Advanced driver assistance features such as forward collision warning, blind-spot monitoring, a head-up display, rear traffic warning, and rear parking sensor will be optional.

2022 Camaro ZL1 1LE

The 2022 Chevrolet Camaro was assembled in Michigan by GM USA at GM’s Lansing Grand River plant. It’s the only plant in the world that assembles vehicles.

Here’s the 2022 Chevy Camaro we expect to be different:

  • New exterior colors
  • Minor changes in the structure of the equipment
  • The engine upgrade potential for SS and ZL1 models

How fast is the 2020 Camaro ZL1

From the results we’ve found the 2020 Camaro ZL1 surpasses 198 miles per hour. The high-end models of the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and ZL1 LE have a top speed of 198 miles per hour.

This brain-splitter can go from 0 to 60 in just 3.5 seconds, cover a quarter-mile in 11.4 seconds, and do a Nurburgring loop in 7:16.

How much does a 2020 ZL1 Camaro cost

A significant price comparison we find the 2020 Camaro ZL1, not for the faint of heart. It’s one of the most powerful muscle cars you can buy for around $ 65,000.

In comparison, the price for the new 760-hp Shelby GT500 starts at nearly $ 74,000, and the cheapest Hellcat Challenger starts at around $ 62,000.

2022 Camaro Concept

Muscle cars never die; they just evolved. Today, these American symbols are more sophisticated and technologically advanced than their ancestors.

The Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 2021, for example, can do more than just tear off the drag strip or burnout until the rear tires are flooded with goo.

Thanks to the precise steering and Herculean grip, it can also challenge the world’s best sports cars on the racetrack.

As for the features, the Camaro ZL1 2021 now comes with wireless capabilities for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which means you can integrate your phone to the touch screen without having to plug it in with a USB cable.

That joins other cool features like the available data recorder which lets you record video and telemetry of track day sessions.

As has been the bane of this generation of Camaro since its debut in 2016, poor visibility and a lack of storage space limit the car’s usefulness as an everyday driver.

But when it comes to delivering the purest driving experience of a Detroit muscle car, the Camaro ZL1 is the best in class.

If you are considering the Camaro ZL1, chances are that your priority is all-out performance. Since it comes with almost all available features, we just added the ZL1 1LE Extreme Track Performance Package.

It offers sharper handling as well as performance and a data recorder so you can show all your friends the exploits in your path.

The 2021 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 represents the pinnacle of performance in the Camaro lineup. It is available as a coupe or convertible.

Rumbling under the hood is a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 (650 hp, 650 lb-ft) mated to a six-speed manual transmission. The 10-speed automatic is optional. Its features include:

  • Magnetic Ride Control performance suspension
  • 20-inch wheels with high-performance summer tires
  • High-performance Brembo brakes
  • Electrically limited-slip differential
  • Rear parking sensor
  • Dual-zone automatic climate control
  • Head-up display
  • Virtual rearview mirror
  • Recaro front sport seats are heated and ventilated
  • 8-inch touch screen
  • Wireless charging pad
  • Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Nine-speaker Bose audio system
  • Wi-Fi hotspot with remote vehicle monitoring/control
  • Forward collision warning
  • Blindspot monitor with rear traffic alerts

2022 Camaro SS

The Chevrolet Camaro 2022 is the first sports car and the second muscle car. The Chevy still sticks to the massive V8 upfront if you want it, but the Camaro’s chassis and handling prowess are what makes this car so desirable.

There are many options for Camaro buyers too. If you’re a track rat, Chevy makes track-ready 1LE versions for every engine it offers. The convertible variants are numerous, and the horsepower variation is very wide.

The only obstacle to this is that both the Ford Mustang and Dodge Challenger offer the same number of options, albeit with different styles of execution.

Changes for 2022 include the addition of the Wild Cherry Design Pack; 10-speed auto is now available on the SS 1LE, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are getting wireless capabilities. Rally Green Metallic paint is no longer available.

Camaro 2022 is available in two body models (coupe and convertible), with four engines and eight trim levels (seven for the convertible).

The base trim is the 1LS, available with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and automatic or manual transmission.

That makes 275 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, a return of 25 mpg combined with the automatic and 22 mpg combined with the manual.

The 1LT, 2LT, and 3LT trims add a 3.6-liter V6 engine as an option, adding more standard equipment with each price increase.

A V6 Camaro produces 335 horsepower and 284 pound-feet of torque, a net 22 mpg combined with an automatic or 20 mpg combined with a manual transmission.

The LT1, 1SS, and 2SS all come with a 6.2 liter V8, paired with a manual or automatic transmission.

These V8-equipped cars all produce 455 horsepower and 455 pound-feet of torque and return 20 mpg with automatic and 19 mpg manually. Lastly, the ZL1 is the highest trim level, equipped with a 6.2-liter supercharged V8.

The threatening ZL1 produces 650 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque while producing a worse 16 mpg combined with both transmission options. Each version of the Camaro puts its power only on the rear wheels.

2022 Camaro Z28

It’s no secret that GM has been working on a (very high budget) DOHC V8 engine program for the Cadillac CT6 for a while.

Although Cadillac is expected to be the first recipient of the engine, it is easy for anyone who has followed GM’s launch strategy to see that high-end Chevrolet vehicles will end up enjoying a lot of dripping.

We don’t expect to officially see a DOHC V8 from GM in any capacity for at least a year. However, we don’t know if it will become the LT5 – GM’s trademark – or something else.

The new Camaro Z / 28 can only mean one thing: a new lap record. The sixth-generation, 650 HP 2017 Camaro ZL1 arrives at 7:29 am around the 11.9 mile Nurburgring Nordschleife.

8 seconds faster than 500 fifth-generation HP 2014 Camaro Z / 28 (which is a wet rag, and the Z is said to go as fast as 7:31, unofficially).

The speed of this supercar is fast, and there is no doubt that the 2018 Camaro ZL1 1LE is even faster around the ‘ring than the model it is based on.

However, for the Camaro to become the so-called Z / 28-It will undoubtedly be the king of the road alone.

Like the fifth-generation Camaro Z / 28, the sixth-generation Camaro Z / 28 will check every subcomponent for whether or not it needs to exist in its current form. The thin glass here, take out some NVH foam … Everything should add up a bit of weight.

Or as an attempt to compensate for the additional weight of the DOHC V8 which is likely to be heavier than the Block V8’s small pushrod with its design.

Also, liberal carbon fiber use can be safely predicted. Including the wheels, GM has certified carbon fiber wheels. Also, we don’t think it’s an exaggeration to find a carbon fiber hood, rear decklid, or aerodynamic accessories.

305-Square Pirelli Trofeo R Tires (deeply curved) that decorated the fifth-generation Camaro Z / 28 can return. Maybe in a bigger size than before.

Camaro ZL1 1LE 2018 uses Goodyears with a width of 325 on the back. It makes sense to put tire sizes at the fourth Z / 28 angle. And then their Camber.

MULTI MATIC DSSV Dampers are magic. Already announced for the Camaro ZL1 1LE 2018, we can’t think of anything better than this prepared shock absorber.

What we can see on the new Camaro Z / 28 is an improvement in other components over the ZL1 1LE. Huge Sway Bar, gun control, and Cross-bracing, maybe.

Increasing the amount of downforce of the fifth-generation Camaro Z / 28 won’t be a problem. Fixing what the Camaro ZL1 1LE had, is another matter entirely. How many production cars were equipped with Canard? Prepare it.

However, the sixth-generation Camaro Z / 28 may have the largest front Splitter Chevrolet has ever seen, and possibly a wing to match.

2022 Chevy Camaro Interior

The interior of the new Camaro 2022 is an improvement over the previous generation, with better materials and a more modern look.

The comfortable front seats and straightforward layout are high points, but the very small rear seats and the distracted visibility impede viability.

The optional head-up display is useful and isn’t offered by the Dodge Challenger or Ford Mustang. The new Camaro 2022 can also be equipped with adjustable ambient interior lighting, which adds to the cool look.

The Chevy outperformed its competitors on the track and in the fun-to-drive parts, but its rear seats are basically adult-useless.

The new Camaro 2022 is also unmatched in terms of cargo space and interior storage. This bag has the least amount of carry-on baggage compared to its space-fussy rivals and has a very small trunk opening.

Every Camaro has a user-friendly touchscreen that supports Chevy’s Infotainment 3 software. While the larger 8.0-inch touchscreen fills the space better, the plastic frame looks chintzy, and the downward angles are uncomfortable.

If not, an organized mix of controls and menus will be appreciated. The Chevy setup has everything standard – intuitive controls, interesting menus, responsive feedback, Wi-Fi hotspot, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto that can be accessed without plugging a smartphone into a USB port.

2022 Camaro Mid Engine

The 275-hp four-cylinder base isn’t slow – we tested a manual model which was surprisingly fast. But uneven throttle response and an unpleasant, unsportsmanlike sound accompany its boring demeanor.

On the other hand, upgrading to the 335-hp V-6 completely changes the character of the car. The gutsy six has its own burning soundtrack.

The 2022 Chevrolet Camaro LT1 and SS feature Chevy’s iconic small-block V-8, with 455 horsepower and 455 lb-ft of torque.

Incredible low-end torque, linear power delivery, and chest compress acceleration are enhanced by the optional dual-mode exhaust, which erupts with sharp barks at startup and rumbles during wide-open throttle bursts.

The standard six-speed manual transmission keeps enthusiasts excited. (For cars not equipped with the 1LE package, a six-speed manual transmission is standard.)

An eight-speed automatic is optional with a four-cylinder engine, and a 10-speed automatic can be paired with the V-6 and V-8.

The 2022 Chevrolet Camaro’s stunning chassis provides a car-and-driver connection (see what we did there?) That is unmatched among pony cars. Its sturdy structure results in proper handling and a quality taste.

Its well-balanced ride is sturdy enough to be nimble on curvy roads but still fits on rough surfaces. Paired with a 1LE setup, these coupes outperform their class – competing with cars that cost considerably more.

1Less fast on the track but relaxed on normal roads Their electrically assisted power-steering system has reasonable effort and very accurate response.

The hot Chevy completes the performance trifecta with excellent brakes; the brake pedal consistently delivers a progressive and convincing response. The 1LE model gets more powerful Brembo brakes and is track-ready.

2022 Chevy Camaro EPA

Neither the EPA nor Chevy has announced fuel economy ratings for the 2021 model year, but the four-cylinder engine should continue to have the highest city and highway forecasts in the Camaro lineup.

Even though the V-6 and V-8 powertrains were less costly, they performed well in our real-world tests.

We tested each of the three Camaro engines available – paired with a manual transmission – and all of them were within 1 mpg (plus or minus) of their government highway ratings.

2022 Camaro Price and Release Date

The Chevrolet Camaro 2022 was assembled by GM USA at GM’s Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan.

It’s the only facility in the world to assemble vehicles. We expect the 2022 Chevrolet Camaro to follow GM’s regular model year rollover order and launch in the third quarter of the calendar year 2021.

We hope that the sixth-generation Camaro will continue to live for the 2022 model year, and the all-new future Chevy Camaro will launch around the calendar year 2023. However, it may not be a Camaro, and it could be an electric vehicle.

In our opinion, the best way to experience the new Camaro is with the optional 1LE Track Performance package.

It adds distinct appearance pieces such as black-painted 20-inch wheels and satin black exterior accents as well as unique interior bits that include microsuede trim and a more supportive Recaro front seat (SS model only).

However, the most important improvements are those that impact performance. Every 1LE features a dual-mode exhaust system, improved powertrain cooling components, more powerful brakes, limited-slip differential, and special suspension adjustments.

While we like the four-cylinder and V-6 engine models that offer the 1LE package, we would prefer to pair it with the 1SS trim which only comes with the warm V-8.

That decision of course coincided with choosing a standard manual transmission.

  1. LS – $ 25,995
  2. LT – $ 26,495
  3. LT1 – $ 34,995
  4. SS – $ 38,495
