2019 Chevrolet Sonic Specs welcome to our site chevymodel.com chevy offers a diverse line-up of cars, coupes, sedans, and hatchbacks. Visit now and get more expert review. The Chevrolet stately sonic provides functionality, efficiency and flexibility in a compact package. The standard 1.8-liter four-cylinder teams with a 5- or 6-speed or 6-speed automatic transmission. The 1.4-liter turbo four is the to get one; it is equipped with a 6-speed manually or automatically. Available as a Saloon or Estate, the sonic relies on wide appeal. A 7.0-inch touch screen infotainment system has 4G LTE internet connections with Apple CarPlay/Android car and onboard Wi-fi.

Chevy injected some new life into its compact sonic with a visual refreshment and some additional tech features for 2017. Still in hatchback and sedan forms, the 2017 Sonic takes a look similar to its crossover counterpart, The Trax, which was also updated earlier this year.

We are largely fans of the spunky little Sonic, and this update should not change our minds too much. Nothing under the skin is changed, and the new look represents a reasonable, if subtle, upgrade. The hood, front bezel, and headlights are new, and the Sonic also takes optional led accent lights and a smaller radiator grille. Rear, the rear fascia and taillamps are easily reshaped, although we do not tell much of a difference.

The Sonic’s already extensive color palette is wider for 2017, adding colors such as orange burst metallic, sulfur, Cajun red Tintcoat and Arctic Blue Metallic. The 15-, 16-and 17-inch wheels are also new.

The Sonic sedan is still in LS and LT models, although the most imaginative trim, previously called LTZ, was renamed Premier. The tailgate lineup changes a bit more. It previously offered LS, LT, LTZ and athletic RS trim levels, but Chevrolet will now have the RS treatment – including a stiffer suspension, sports exhaust, and a body kit – for all Sonic hatchbacks that only come in LT and Premier trims. As before, Sonic sedan shoppers who want a bit more excitement can also go for an RS package that brings similar upgrades and now makes the four-door look like a full size Chevy SS that’s squeezed into a smaller box for delivery.

2019 Chevrolet Sonic Engine

Chevy doesn’t have any photos of the 2017 Sonic’s interior, so we have to wait until next week’s New York auto Show to see the new gauge cluster and its analogue speedometer for ourselves (the outgoing Sonic uses a motorcycle-inspired digital gauge cluster that we liked). Otherwise, new optional functions include the seat of a driver, a keyless entry and a push button start, heated cloth seats and a heated steering wheel. Models with the 7.0-inch MyLink touchscreen now offer Apple CarPlay and Android Auto-capability. There are no changes to the standard 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine or the optional 1.4-liter turbocharger four. Both make 138 PS, but the smaller turbo 148 lb-ft of torque is 23 stronger than that of the standard engine, so it’s our preference. Both engines continue to be offered with a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic-the turbo with the stick is the way to go.

The transfer mechanically mean that fuel consumption should not change significantly from the 2016 sonic EPA reviews. They currently range from 25 to 29 mpg city and 33-40 Highway for the 1.4-liter, with the 1.8-liter at 24-26 MPG city and 35 highway, which puts the sonic behind the class leaders.

Available as a four-door sedan and five-door hatchback-in LS, lt, LTZ and Rs trims-the Sonic is an entry-level model designed to bring new, younger customers to the Chevrolet brand. As such, it includes OnStar 4g with built-in WiFi hotspot, Bluetooth phone connection and optional advanced security technologies; Forward collision alarm and lane departure warning is available on LTZ and RS trim, as well as a rear view camera. Ten airbags are standard throughout the lineup. There are some essential additions to the 2017 model, including a new MyLink system with 7-inch color touchscreen plus Segment-exclusive Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, and a fresh exterior with new LED signature lighting. The standard machine is a Ecotec 1.8-liter four-cylinder, paired with a five-speed manual or six-speed automatic; The RS gets its sportier thrust from a turbocharger 1.4-liter Ecotec four (with much more torque), paired with a standard six-speed manual.

2019 Chevrolet Sonic Price

Don’t expect much of a price change for the tweaked 2017 Sonic, either; The 2016 model started at $15,220 for a manual gearbox sedan LS and ranged up to $22,370 for an RS with the automatic in both body style. Expect to see the 2017 sonic in dealers this fall.
