2023 Chevy Tahoe: Next-Gen Chevy Tahoe Full-Size 7-8 Passenger SUV Review

Posted on

2023 Chevy Tahoe is a solid choice for the full-size SUV segment – and looks set to improve for the 2023 model year with the addition of Super Cruise hands-free driving assistance technology. Find out the new Chevy Tahoe 2023 release date, price, specs, and features.

The Chevy Tahoe 2023 and Chevy Suburban 2023 will have one amazing new feature. Hands-free driving technology is something all automakers want in their vehicles.

However, it is difficult to implement new features with a chip shortage. By 2023, Chevy Tahoe and Suburban hope to have GM Super Cruise technology. Will the automaker do it for two full-size SUVs?

There’s a lot more to be said for large SUVs built on a truck foundation, like the Chevrolet Tahoe 2023. They’re sturdy and can handle substantial towing demands, and they provide plenty of room for large families.

The Tahoe uses a Chevy Silverado pickup ladder frame construction, plus three engine options — two V8s and an inline-6 turbodiesel. However, don’t think that this Chevrolet is a rough driver. Very comfortable.

The long-wheelbase Tahoe variant with more cargo space, the Chevy Suburban 2023, is reviewed separately.

2023 Chevy Tahoe Review

The Chevrolet Tahoe is one of the last major truck-based SUVs on the market, offering a large interior with seating for between seven and nine people, impressive towing capacity, and a surprisingly low fuel economy rating.

2023 Chevy Tahoe New

We expect nothing to change for the 2023 model year, as Tahoe will likely return as a carryover model.

Chevrolet has tried to make the Tahoe a little more aerodynamic to add some extra MPG, but in the end, it’s still bricked with wheels.

However, it does allow it to have a spacious interior with up to 122.9 cubic feet of space, a figure that’s only seriously less than the larger (but closely related) Chevrolet Suburban.

The Tahoe is perfect for transporting larger families on vacation travel, with three rows of comfortable seating, plenty of cargo space to spare, and neat features like an optional rear entertainment system.

Tahoe is offered three engine options. Most get a 5.3-liter V8 with 355 horsepower, while a 6.2-liter V8 with 420 hp is available at higher trim levels as an option.

There’s also a 3.0-liter inline-six turbodiesel that offers the best fuel economy of the three at a combined 24 mpg, which is a 7 mpg increase from the base 5.3 liters.

All-wheel drive is standard on the top Premier and High Country trim levels and optional on all other models, while a 10-speed automatic transmission complements all models.

The Tahoe comes standard with lane guard assistance, automatic high light, rear parking sensors, and front automatic emergency braking.

Other features such as adaptive cruise control, reverse automatic braking, blind-spot monitoring, and a surround-view camera are available as you climb through a trim or select options.

2023 Chevy Tahoe Specs

Buyers of the full-size Chevy Tahoe 2023 SUV have three engine options: a 5.3-liter V-8, a 6.2-liter V-8, and a 3.0-liter I-6 Turbo-Diesel. Here are the horsepower and torque specifications for each engine:

  • 5.3-liter V-8: 355 hp/383 lb-ft . of torque
  • 6.2 liter V-8: 420 hp/460 lb-ft . of torque
  • 3.0-liter I-6 Turbo-Diesel: 277 hp/460 lb-ft . of torque

Power from the engine is channeled through a 10-speed automatic transmission. In addition, the Tahoe can be equipped with a rear-wheel drive system or a four-wheel drive system that improves traction.

On the towing front, the Tahoe has a maximum towing capacity of 8,400 pounds. In addition, for storage space, this SUV provides a maximum cargo capacity of 122.9 cu-ft.

Here are Tahoe’s estimated fuel savings for each engine:

  • 5.3-liter V-8: Up to 15 mpg city highway/20
  • 6.2-liter V-8: Up to 14 mpg city highway/20
  • 3.0-liter I-6 Turbo-Diesel: Up to 21 city/28 highway mpg

2023 Chevy Tahoe Interior

2023 Chevy Tahoe Interior One of the few options in the base LS trim is a 3-seater for the front row, turning the Tahoe 2023 SUV into a 9-seater. The LT, RST, and Z71 versions accommodate eight people, with an optional pair of captain’s seats for the second row reducing the number of passengers to seven.

The Premier and High Country models have these seats as standard and are therefore exclusive to 7 seats.

This most expensive trim comes with a powerful moving center console 10 inches from front to back. These include secure storage, cup holders, and sliding armrests. It’s also optional in the lower trim, except for the LS.

Each Tahoe has a spacious interior. There’s a maximum of 42 inches of legroom in the slidable second row and 34.9 inches in the third row. The Cargo area is also on the generous side, from 25.5 to 122.9 cubic feet.

2023 Chevy Tahoe Super Cruise

According to Car and Driver, Chevy plans to add a Super Cruise to the Tahoe and Suburban for 2023. Unfortunately, the semiconductor shortage may have something to say about it.

In addition, the Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance system is one of the best available but only in a few models at the moment. Whether these two SUVs will get the technology remains unclear.

A representative from CAD spoke with a Chevrolet spokesperson, asking if the feature should be pushed back to the 2024 model year:

“Due to current supply chain shortages, certain features — including Super Cruise — have limited and late availability. (Chevy) continues to monitor chip availability and will make this decision when our business deems it appropriate within the model year cycle,” the spokesperson told CAD.

As a result, it looks like Chevy is pretty confident in its ability to deploy the technology for 2023. Otherwise, we’ll be waiting until 2024 for Chevy Tahoe and Suburban to take the Super Cruise.

Automakers may have a better grip on the situation than they believe. Stating that supply chain and semiconductor shortage issues could prevent the Super Cruise from entering the two SUVs only saves them if something goes wrong.

2023 Chevy Tahoe Exterior

At 17.5 feet long, the full-size Tahoe 2023 SUV covers the same kind of trail (tire print?) as the Ford Expedition. That’s big. Viewers may think there is a solar eclipse, but the eclipse takes longer to pass.

The LS and LT have 18-inch alloy wheels, the Z71 and Premier have optional 20-inch alloy wheels on the lower trim, and the High Country model uses 22-inch alloy wheels (optional with Premier).

The LS also comes with side ladders as standard, which the Z71 ditches in pursuit of optimal ground clearance.

This year’s changes include a black grille available with LS, LT, RST, and Premier trims, with the word “Chevrolet” in capital letters replacing the regular logo.

New paint options for 2023 are Silver Sage Metallic, Sterling Gray Metallic, and Radiant Red Tintcoat.

2023 Chevy Tahoe Engine

Various versions of the full-size Tahoe 2023 SUV offer Magnetic Ride Control suspension or adaptive air suspension, but even the regular setup is comfortable and well-tuned. A long journey in Tahoe is something to be enjoyed rather than experienced.

Either of the two available V8 engines will do the job, each powerful enough not to feel overworked. And the optional turbocharged diesel engine combines low-end thrust with greater fuel economy — ideal for hiking on mountain roads.

The Z71 has a 4-wheel-drive (4WD) system as standard, equipped with a low-range transfer case. Also includes all-terrain tires and extra underbody protection.

In case any owner heeds the wild call of the unpaved, the Tahoe’s ground clearance is 8 inches or 10 inches with air suspension.

The Super Cruise is a new option in the top Premier and High Country trims. It is a hands-free and foot-free partial self-driving system that works on certain freeways, the number of which is growing as more accesses to the navigation system database.

In theory, this is all good. In practice, a global chip shortage (thank you very much, Covid) can mean late availability.

2023 Chevy Tahoe Favorite Feature: 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe Configurations

  • WIRELESS APPLE CARPLAY/ANDROID AUTO STANDARD
The ability to connect a smartphone to a vehicle’s infotainment system was great, but now it’s taken for granted. The Chevy Tahoe 2023 runs better without a wired connection, so users can keep their phones in their pockets or bag.
  • DRIVER INFORMATION CENTER
This 12.3-inch digital display comes standard in the one-top-of-the-base LT trim and complements state-of-the-art technology for the 10.2-inch infotainment touchscreen that is also present at this trim level.

2023 Chevy Tahoe Standard Features

There have been some complaints about the availability of certain features in the full-size Tahoe 2023 SUV lineup. For example, buyers had to choose one of the top two trims just to qualify for adaptive cruise control. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

At the entry level, the LS version still has a decent standard of inventory. This includes LED headlights/daylight/taillights, rain-sensing wipers, heated mirrors, remote start, keyless entry/ignition, power-adjustable front seats, fabric upholstery, leather-wrapped steering wheel, automatic climate control 3 -zone, Teen Driver programmable lock, front/rear parking sensors, rear seat reminder, and a pair of 120-volt power outlets.

Apple CarPlay/Android Auto wireless is also standard, along with an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen, Wi-Fi, satellite radio, Bluetooth, and six USB ports (including one USB-C up front).

Safety features include forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, plus automatic high light and lane maintenance assistance.

2023 Chevy Tahoe Factory Option

With a pleasing design like the LS trim, choosing the LT model is still a smarter call – as long as finances allow.

In addition to offering more options than the LS, additional tech features include a 10.2-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital driver information display, navigation, wireless phone charging, and a Bose 9-speaker audio system, and Google Assistant compatibility.

Other items included in the LT trim are heated front seats, driver seat memory settings, hands-free tailgate operation, auto-dimming mirrors, and a universal garage door opener.

The RST model is pretty much a collection of cosmetic changes, but it does offer a Sports Performance package that features a larger petrol V8 and adaptive suspension.

The Z71 has 4-wheel drive and all-terrain tires as standard while also having a larger V8 and adaptive suspension on its list of options.

The LT, RST, and Z71 zones are where many options are available. These include blind-spot monitoring with rear traffic warning (also available on the LS), an adjustable/heated steering wheel, heated second-row outboard seats, and a 360-degree camera system.

Most of these additions come standard at the Premier level, which also comes with a Bose 10-speaker system, Safety Alert Seat, heated/ventilated front seats, and adaptive suspension.

The High Country gets a 360-degree camera system, plus a head-up display, rearview mirror, rear pedestrian warning, and a larger V8 engine.

The Premier and High Country have Super Cruise, adaptive cruise control, panoramic sunroof, power-retractable side steps, and air suspension (also available on the Z71) on their list of options.

2023 Chevy Tahoe Engine & Transmission

The base engine for the Tahoe 2023 SUV lineup is a naturally aspirated 5.3-liter V8 engine (no turbo or anything) that makes 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. Regular gasoline is fine for this unit.

The RST, Z71, and Premier trims offer the option of a 6.2-liter V8 that makes 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. It’s also standard in the top High Country trims. Premium gasoline is recommended in this case.

Another option besides the Z71 is the 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-6 diesel engine that produces 277 horsepower and the same amount of torque as the larger V8.

All three engines are connected to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive (RWD) is the standard setting, with 4-wheel drive (4WD) on the options list or standard on the Z71.

These fuel savings estimates from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) relate to 2022, but 2023 should be the same.

  • 5.3-liter V8
  • 355 horsepower @ 5,600 rpm
  • Torque 383 lb-ft @ 4,100 rpm
  • EPA city/highway Fuel economy: 15/20 mpg (RWD & 4WD)
  • 6.2 liter V8
  • 420 horsepower @ 5,600 rpm
  • Torque 460 lb-ft @ 4,100 rpm
  • EPA city/highway fuel economy: 14/20 mpg (RWD), 14/19 mpg (4WD)
  • 3.0 liter turbocharged inline-6. diesel
  • 277 horsepower @ 3,750 rpm
  • torque 460 lb-ft @ 1,500 rpm
  • EPA city/highway Fuel economy: 21/28 mpg (RWD), 20/26 mpg (4WD)

2023 Tahoe Colors

2023 Chevy Tahoe Colors, According to GM Authority sources, the Chevy Tahoe 2023 and Chevy Suburban 2023 will remove the following three paint options (relevant paint codes are included in brackets):

  • Satin Steel Metallic (G9K)
  • Evergreen Gray Metallic (GED)
  • Cherry Red Tintcoat (GSK)

The three exterior paint colors listed above are available for all trim levels of the Chevy Tahoe 2022 and Chevy Suburban 2022. Cherry Red Tintcoat is offered for an additional $495.

Meanwhile, the three colors that came out will be replaced with three new colors, namely:

  • Silver Sage Metallic (G6N)
  • Radiant Red Tintcoat (GNT)
  • Sterling Gray Metallic (GXD)

In addition to the new exterior paint options, the Chevy Tahoe 2023 and Chevy Suburban 2023 will also be available to order with GM’s semi-autonomous hands-free Super Cruise technology, although not in early production as those features are currently limited due to an ongoing microchip shortage.

2023 Tahoe Price

Prices start at $52,000 for the LS version of the full-size 3-row Tahoe 2023 SUV. Other trim levels are LT, RST, Z71 (with 4-wheel drive as standard), Premier, and High Country. A well-specified top version can run up to $80K.

These numbers are similar to the rest of the class, with the Nissan Armada slightly lower and the new GMC Yukon, Ford Expedition, and Toyota Sequoia for 2023 slightly more expensive.

Before buying a new Tahoe SUV, check KBB.com’s Fair Purchase Price to see what others in your area are paying for them. Sequoia will probably hold on to its best value, but the other competitors here are all doing pretty well.

2023 Tahoe Release Date

The 2023 Chevy Tahoe Release Date will likely occur in late Summer/early Fall 2022. It will be available for purchase at Chevrolet dealerships throughout the United States, as well as in select international markets.

The Tahoe is built at GM’s factory in Arlington, Texas, next to the Chevy Suburban.

2023 Chevy Tahoe The much-anticipated 2023 Chevy Tahoe full-size SUV will go into production next year, GM Authorities have learned. Both vehicles are manufactured at GM’s Arlington plant in Texas.

Both the Chevy Tahoe and Suburban ride on the T1 platform that also underlies the 2019 and newer Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra trucks, the 2021 GMC Yukon, and the 2021 Cadillac Escalade luxury SUVs.

The Chevy Tahoe and Suburban are essentially the same vehicles, except that the Tahoe measures 210.7 inches from front to rear, while the Suburban is 15 inches longer at 225.7 inches bumper-to-bumper.

2023 Chevy Tahoe Review

The Chevrolet Tahoe 2023 enters its third model year after receiving a complete redesign that gives the 3-row SUV more passenger space, increased driving comfort, and a wider list of standard comforts and technological features.

The biggest advantage of this already massive SUV comes in terms of legroom for whoever sits in the third row. The revised rear suspension frees up more room for people and, as a bonus, more space for cargo too

What’s in store for Tahoe 2023?

We expect the color, trim, and package options changes that are common every year with almost any new car, truck, or SUV. The bigger surprise was the addition of a high-performance model.

The new Tahoe could potentially be geared towards on-road speed (similar to the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk), or something specifically tuned for rough driving on unpaved surfaces.

At the time of writing, Chevrolet isn’t offering any hints, though we think there’s room at the top of the Tahoe range for a halo model with a V8 pounding under the hood.

Beyond this potential newcomer, look for the Tahoe 2023 to come standard with a 355-horsepower 5.3-liter V8, with the option of upgrading to a 277-hp 6-cylinder turbodiesel or a 420-hp 6.2-liter V8. All of these engines are equipped with a 10-speed automatic transmission, which provides smooth and fast gearshifts.

The majority of Tahoe trims come in a rear-wheel-drive format, with 4-wheel drive (4WD) as an additional cost option. One exception is the off-road Z71 trim which comes standard with 4WD and hardware such as an underbody skid plate, 2-speed transfer box, hill descent control, and front tow hook.

Chevrolet brings an impressive array of comforts and technological touches as standard at the Tahoe. It includes a 10.2-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto connectivity, onboard Wi-Fi, voice commands, and 8 USB ports.

Apart from getting four tires into the Apple store, there are ways to get more tech in the big SUV.

2023 Chevy Tahoe Redesign

Both models were overhauled (redesigned and re-engineered) for the 2023 model year, entering the fifth (Tahoe) and 12th (Suburban) generations. The 2023 Chevy Tahoe model year update will include only minor changes, including new colors and minor changes to features and content in trim levels.

The 2023 Chevy Tahoe and Suburban arrive as the second model year for the latest next-gen nameplates, introducing several changes and updates during the completely overhauled 2021 model-year vehicle.

One of these updates is the inclusion of a new 12-inch digital driver information center.

The new feature for the 2022 Chevy Tahoe and 2022 Chevy Suburban is codenamed RPO UDV and is officially called the 12-inch Enhanced Multi-Color Digital Driver Information Center.

A new 12-inch display is included as standard with the LT, RST, Z71, Premier, and High Country trim levels. This feature is not available with the LS trim level, which continues to be equipped with a 4.2-inch Driver Information Center with an analog speedometer and tachometer (RPO code UDD).

Previously, the Chevy Tahoe and Chevy Suburban were equipped as standard with a 4.2-inch Driver Information Center with an analog speedometer and tachometer (RPO code UDD) as standard across all trim levels.

Except for Premier and High Country, both of them are equipped with an 8-inch Enhanced Multi-Color Driver Information Center with an analog speedometer and tachometer (UHS RPO code).

As previously discussed by GM Authority, the GMC Yukon also features a 12-inch Enhanced Multi-Color Driver Information Center, which is offered as standard for all trim levels. Previously, all GMC Yukon models were equipped with an 8-inch Diagonal Multi-Color Driver Information Center.

Further updates for the 2023 Chevy Tahoe and Chevy Suburban include the introduction of the new Off-Road Performance Package (RPO code RGN), which is offered as an optional along with the Z71 trim level and includes a naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87.

The gasoline engine, as well as Polished Dual Twin Stainless-Steel Exhaust Tip (RPO code N10). The new Off-Road Performance Plan requires selecting the Off-Road Capability Pack (RPO code Z6E).

Both the 2023 Chevy Tahoe and Chevy Suburban are performing very well in the market. In Q1, 23,038 Tahoe and 11,143 Suburban found customers in the United States, for a combined 34,181 units.

This collectively places the duo as the undisputed best-seller in the mainstream full-size SUV segment, with the Ford Expedition coming in second with 22,263 units.

2023 Chevy Tahoe Specs

It is estimated that the Tahoe 2023 Chevy Tahoe and Suburban each come standard with a 5.3-liter V8 in the LS, LT, RST, Z71, and Premier trims. This engine makes 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque and gets 20 mpg on the highway.

The LS, LT, RST, Premier, and High Country trims also offer the Duramax 3.0-liter Turbo-Diesel. It produces 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque while hitting 28 mpg on the highway for the Tahoe and 27 mpg for the Suburban.

Only the High Country trim comes as standard with the 6.2-liter V8, which makes 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque and produces 20 mpg on the road. However, once Chevy releases the Tahoe and Suburban, you’ll be able to opt for the 6.2-liter V8 on the RST, Z71, and Premier trims as well.

The only way to choose this engine for the RST model is to add a new Sports Performance Pack as well. This package consists of two polished stainless steel exhaust tips and Magnetic Ride Control.

Similarly, you must add the new Off-Road Performance Pack to the Z71 model to own the engine. It includes the same exhaust tips as the Sports Performance Pack. The Premier is the only trim to offer a 6.2-liter V8 as a standalone option.

2023 Chevrolet Tahoe Packages

The 2023 Chevy Tahoe and Suburban received only minor changes for the model year as they were recently redesigned. However, one of their more important updates is that they will introduce a new Off-Road Performance Pack.

The Off-Road Performance Package will be optional for the 2022 Tahoe and Suburban. These include polished dual stainless steel exhaust tips and a 6.2-liter V8 engine. Adding this package would be the only way to get the V8 for the Z71 trim.

To choose a package, you should also choose the Off-Road Capability Package, which consists of an Adaptive Air Ride suspension, an electronic limited-slip differential, and Magnetic Ride Control. These features make for a smoother ride on different terrains.

Additionally, you must have the Luxury Plan, which adds security technologies such as HD Surround Vision and Rear Pedestrian Alert. It also includes interior amenities such as an automatic heated steering wheel, heated second-row outboard seats, and a 60/40 split-folding power rear row.

Plus, the exterior mirrors and electric driver’s seat will accept memory settings making it easier to switch between drivers.

The last package you will need is the Trailering Max Package. As the name suggests, it allows the Tahoe and Suburban to tow trailers or small boats thanks to an enhanced cooling radiator, trailer brake controller, Hitch Guidance with Hitch View, and an Advanced Trailer System.

This latter system features an in-vehicle Trailer App with trailer maintenance reminders, safety alerts, and more.

2023 Chevy Tahoe Exterior

With the latest update, the Chevy Tahoe 2023 received a significant redesign with a box design inspired by the Silverado truck. All models have distinctive LED DRL headlights and a prominent front grille with the Chevrolet logo in the center.

As for the Chevy Tahoe 2023, the Tahoe will continue to have the same design with slight improvements: the body design extends to the rear with a strong shoulder line extending from the headlights to the rear of the vehicle. High Finish

also features four chrome exhausts. The off-road-focused Z71 model features a unique front end with a different grille and bumper layout, as well as other off-road-ready elements, including red rebound hooks and roof rails. The RST sports car model has a Gloss Black grille. and badges.

The increased legroom has significantly increased cargo space, providing 25.5 cubic feet even for all overhead seats.

Size-wise, all of these SUVs are too big, and it’s no surprise that handling isn’t their forte. However, the exterior design makes the Tahoe appear smaller than its competitors, giving it a more sporty appearance.

Speaking of dimensions, the Chevrolet Tahoe will measure 210.7 inches in length, 75.8 inches in height, and a wheelbase of 120.9 inches. Compared to this, rivals Ford Expedition and Nissan Armada are roughly the same sizes. Toyota Sequoia S

is the smallest, but has an above-average 122-inch wheelbase and class-leading 9.9-inch ground clearance. Some of the salient features of the exterior include:

  • LED headlights throughout the range
  • 22-inch alloy wheels
  • Double panel panoramic sunroof
  • Vertical LED taillight
  • Unique off-road-ready design for the Z71. model
  • Silver roof rail
  • Exhaust four doors

2023 Chevy Tahoe Interior

2023 Chevy Tahoe Build quality has been significantly improved with soft-touch materials used liberally in the cab.

The floating infotainment screen sits at the top with plenty of functionality, while other controls are buried under the center vent, giving it a clean and minimalistic look.

A lot of wood trim covers the dashboard and door trim, with the RST model getting unique seats and gray inserts. All controls are easily accessible and ergonomically positioned and include multiple steering wheel controls.

Oddly enough, the center console lacks any switchgear and gets a wireless charging pad with two integrated cup holders. This translates to a barrage of buttons to the left including an oddly placed parking brake switch.

The move to a new platform has significantly increased cabin space with more than 10-inches freed up for third-row passengers, allowing even adults to sit comfortably.

The second row also offers sliding adjustment, which further enhances practicality. There is plenty of comfort on offer including power-adjustable front seats with heating and ventilation functions, keyless ignition, optional heated second-row bucket seats, wireless charging, dual-panel panoramic sunroof, and more.

The base LS model can be equipped with a 40/20/40 split-bench seat upfront, increasing passenger capacity to 9.

The interior space offered is the best in the Chevrolet Tahoe, followed by the Ford Expedition. Next up is the Nissan Armada, with ample space in all three rows of seats, if it weren’t for the space below in the third row, the Armada would have finished third here.

At the same time, the Toyota Sequoia is the widest and narrowest to say, especially in the third row. The Chevrolet Tahoe’s load capacity with all the overhead seats reaches an impressive 25.5 cubic feet.

While the Ford Expedition offers the next best cargo capacity at 19.3 cubic feet, followed by the Toyota Sequoia with 18.9 cubic feet of cargo space, the Nissan Armada disappoints with a light footprint of 16.5 cubic feet.

The Tahoe has a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with several features on offer such as Apple Carplay and Android Auto wireless connectivity, Alexa integration with voice recognition, satellite, and radio. HD, Bose premium audio, and added entertainment. in the back seat. 12.6-inch dual screen system.

The higher trim also gets a 15-inch heads-up display for added comfort. Among its competitors, the Expedition seems to have the most balanced and feature-packed interior.

However, Tahoe wasn’t too far behind. Some of the notable interior features of the Tahoe include:

  • Power-adjustable front seats with memory function
  • Heated and ventilated front seats
  • 10.2-inch infotainment system
  • Apple Carplay Wireless and Android Auto
  • Improved voice control with built-in Alexa
  • Bluetooth with two active devices
  • Navigation
  • 4G LTE with Wi-Fi hotspot
  • Backseat entertainment with 12.6-inch dual screen
  • Access connected Chevrolet

2023 Chevrolet Tahoe Engine

The Chevy Tahoe and Suburban 2023 are expected to be equipped with the 5.3-liter L84 petrol engine from the EcoTec3 family as standard.

355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. The 6.2-liter L87 V8 engine is exclusive to the country’s most premium model, producing 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque.

Instead, all models except the Z71 offer a Duramax I6 LM2 3.0-liter turbo diesel engine that produces 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. It should be noted that the LM2 is the only diesel engine installed in all vehicles in this segment.

They accounted for six percent of Tahoe sales and eight percent of Suburban sales in April 2021, according to an exclusive report from GM Authority.

All three engines are mated to a 10L80 GM Hydra-Matic speed automatic transmission. standard on all models except the Z71. All-wheel drive is mandatory for all other trim levels.

New 2023 Chevy Tahoe 6.2-liter V8

GM Authority revealed that an ordering guide for the 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe and 2022 Suburban is now available.

There have been some notable feature updates for the second year of this generation on the market (standard lane guard assistance, plus newly available reverse automatic braking and an improved 12-inch digital gauge display).

The good news is that the 6.2-liter V8 will be available in more variants. This will be extended to the Z71, RST, and Premier after becoming an option only for the High-end High-end models for 2021. The 5.3-liter V8 remains standard, while the 3.0-liter Duramax diesel remains standard.

Of course, there is a small print. To get the 6.2 on the Z71, you need to order the new OffRoad Performance Plan. It’s just a 6.2-liter four-pipe V8 with stainless steel lugs, but it’s not that simple.

To order the OffRoad Performance Package, you also need to order a downloadable package that adds magnetic steering, adaptive suspension, and an electronically limited slip differential.

And we’re not done yet, because ordering the Off-Road Capability Package also means ordering the Trailer and the Luxury Max Package. Alternatively, customers can skip the serial connection option by ordering the existing Z71 OffRoad package, i.e. bundle package; Luxury, Trailer Max,

Using the biggest V8 on RST is at least a little easier. This means you’ll need to order the new Sports Performance Package, which combines a 6.2-liter V8 with magnetic travel control and four stainless steel tubes.

Only the Premier version will make the 6.2-liter V8 stand alone. This version is equipped with Magnetic Ride Control and a glossy exhaust.

2023 Chevy Tahoe Price

We expect the 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe to coming with a base price of around $50,000. This netted buyers a standard Tahoe LS trim that was equipped with a 355 horsepower V8, rear-wheel drive, 10-speed automatic transmission, and a 10.2-inch infotainment system.

Anyone looking to take their Tahoe 2023 off-road may want to consider the Z71 trim, which costs around $60,000. This gives Chevy’s 3-row SUV true all-terrain prowess.

At the top of the Tahoe lineup, unless the high-performance variant releases it, the Tahoe High Country trim commands around $74,000 when ordered with 4-wheel drive.

If Chevy did add extra muscle to the Tahoe 2023 engine bay, something more powerful than the 420-hp V8 already on offer, we think it would carry a price tag of around $80,000.

2023 Chevy Tahoe Release Date

Now, GM is preparing to work on the Chevy Tahoe 2023 which is expected to surpass its predecessor. Although GM has not announced an official schedule for the 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe, GM will likely start production of the next big SUV in the coming year.
