2024 Chevy Chevelle has come to life with all the dreams of users who love and love CHEVY CHEVELLE. When looking across the landscape of cars we see on the road today, a few models are missing from the lineup. For example, in its time, the Chevrolet Chevelle was a monster hit.
So why didn’t Chevrolet revive the nameplate into something meaningful? Until recently, the model was relatively forgotten by modern manufacturers.
However, for those who have died for the ’70s Chevelles to come back to life, the dream will come true. With a company called TransAm Worldwide, we will see Chevelle breathe again. With a model called the 70/SS, fans will see classic styling applied to a more modern platform.
2024 Chevy Chevelle Review
2024 Chevy Chevelle: The Anything automotive now appears achievable with a combination of digital design, 3D printed components, and one percent too much money. even the most recent Chevy Chevelle. Trans Am Worldwide in Tallahassee launched its 70/SS this year to show off this synergy. Following the company’s redesigning standards based on the current Camaro chassis, a modernized version of the 1970 Chevelle.
The entire Camaro was covered in new carbon fiber body panels to transform it into Chevelle, a legendary name long gone from the lexicon of Chevy’s classic cars. This was his most ambitious job to date. The new sixth-generation Camaro has everything, especially its general engineering and contemporary dependability, which come with the 70/SS. That entails a six-speed manual or automatic transmission and a convertible or coupe.
Trans Am improved the suspension and altered the interior to match the modifications made outside. The company produces limited editions of some machines, such as the 1,500 horsepower, twin-turbo LSX. But it will also produce several historical Chevelle models, like the SS 454 and SS 396. This limits this as well. However, spreading out his design, engineering, and tooling over a total of 25 samples is helpful.
It also applies to the current Firebird, which is built on the Camaro. It has been around for a while and has supported Trans Am’s business case for this distinctive and expertly-made vehicle. Furthermore, you may build a coupe and a convertible right away using the Camaro base. But what follows?
GM Road has always produced as many different iterations of its pricey equipment as it could. The first-generation Chevelle was offered as a coupe, a convertible, a four-door station wagon, and a sedan. The El Camino Ute pickup is built on top of it as well.
35 years after the final one left the Mexican manufacturing line, that sub-brand of the Chevelle still enjoys a sizable following. Additionally, Ford Maverick, Hyundai’s Santa Cruz, and other manufacturers’ smaller unibody pickups have preferred its sedan/pickup configuration.
Since we’re talking about gatherings, we’re wondering if the rise in popularity of the El Camino and the Chevelle’s superb modern Trans Am design would prompt the business to produce an El Camino variation. The limited edition Trans Am and Chevelle on the plate, in our opinion, may be extremely full.
But the time appears to be right for that to happen. Although it is unlikely, we can at least consider the option. The Camaro platform will need to be slightly more modified for this version than for what the firm now offers. Consequently, that by itself might be regarded as impossible.
2024 Chevy Chevelle Updates
The Chevrolet Chevelle is one of the most recognizable muscle cars from America’s golden period of automobile manufacturing. Today, the iconic Chevelle costs upwards of $100,000 in good condition, and due to the model’s extreme rarity, these prices are unlikely to fall anytime soon. They are rare for a cause, however, since the SS 454 package costs 28% more than a conventional Chevelle, resulting in only 4,475 being made.
TransAm Worldwide (TAW) is one company aiming to profit from the great success of this model by replicating the monster muscle automobile for the twenty-first century. Now, this isn’t the first time TAW has rebuilt an iconic classic (that honor belongs to the TAW Pontiac Trans-Am Outlaw), so we’re expecting superb execution here. The TAW Chevelle 70/SS comes with a plethora of different specifications and powerplant options, so we’ve broken down the facts and provided the specs for each trim to help you make sense of it all.
TransAm Worldwide provides three distinct 70/SS models.
Depending on how much power you want, these carbon-clad muscle cars come in three different trim levels, beginning with the Base Model, progressing to the 396 Heritage Model, and finishing with the insanely powerful 454 LS6X Limited Edition.
The 70/SS Kicks Out Between 450 and 1,500 Horsepower
Those who choose the base model will get a 450-horsepower V8 engine that matches the power of Chevrolet’s original LS6 454 Chevelle. The 454 LS6X may be ordered with a twin-turbocharged engine that produces a reported 1,500 horsepower.
The Chevelle 70/SS has yet to be priced by TransAm Worldwide.
Because each example of the 70/SS is subject to a wide range of modifications for specific customers, pricing may vary greatly. This is most likely why TransAm Worldwide has not released a pricing structure for their reborn muscle cars.
2024 Chevelle 70/SS Base Model: From 450 Horsepower
TAW’s entry-level Chevelle 70/SS is intended to most accurately emulate the performance of a 1970 Chevelle SS 454, which produced 450 horsepower out of the factory. TAW has equipped the base model with a naturally aspirated 6.2-liter LT-1 V8 to do this.
A supercharger can be installed for those who want a little extra bite from their restomod, increasing output by 50% to a stunning 675 horsepower. Unfortunately, TAW has not offered torque, top speed, or acceleration data for the 70/SS, but it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that a 675-horsepower convertible will be plenty fast. We do know that these cars are based on the sixth-generation Camaro, which is also the basis for TAW’s re-imagined Trans Am model.
The 2024 Chevelle 70/SS Base Model Comes Standard With A Retro-Themed Interior Package.
The interior has also been extensively renovated, with a nostalgic appearance evocative of an original Chevelle SS interior. To accomplish this, the seats are trimmed in leather and have a classic design stitched into them, followed by a distinctive 70/SS emblem embroidered onto the front headrests.
Owners can choose between a Hurst short ratio manual transmission or an automatic transmission, which is then ornamented with a heritage shifter, which neatly fits in the overall retro design. Despite being built on a modern car, the TAW team has done all possible to convey an old-school atmosphere in the cabin, as evidenced by the retro gauge cluster package. Make no mistake, the Chevelle 70/SS is a modern vehicle with cutting-edge technology, yet it’s evident that some old muscle car charm has been preserved on the inside.
Key Features of the 2024 Chevelle 70/SS Base Model
- Hurst manual transmission with a short ratio
- Embroidered headrest 70/SS
- Seating package in retro leather
- Aluminum sill plates for the retro gauge cluster package 70/SS
2024 Chevelle 70/SS 396 Heritage Model: Starting at 800 HP
This 396 Heritage Model is based on the entry-level model, and almost little has changed except for what’s under the hood. They may appear nearly identical while parked next to one another, but if they were to share a drag strip, it would be obvious which was whose.
That’s because when equipped with the twin-turbo engine, this Heritage Model produces double the power of an original Chevrolet Chevelle. There are no naturally aspirated engines available here; instead, customers must pick between a supercharged or twin-turbo 396 V8. The former produces a whopping 800 horsepower, though the turbos produce even more, with a reported 900 horsepower – there’s obviously a lot to be thrilled about with the new Chvelle 70/SS. This Chevelle SS replica is available in both automatic and manual transmission.
This 396 Heritage model is available with either twin turbos or a supercharger.
Every TAW 70/SS version features an entirely carbon-fiber body, which helps to reduce weight without losing strength or painting finish. Plastic panels are inherently weaker in collisions, which can sometimes result in subpar paint finishes.
The interior is similarly retro-themed, with a custom-finished leather-trimmed steering wheel and handmade floor mats bearing the 70/SS insignia. As if the eye-catching interior wasn’t enough, everyone will hear you approaching thanks to a full 3-inch stainless steel exhaust system.
This Chevrolet Chevelle construction leaves no stone behind; even the brake calipers are painted to match the bodywork, which may be painted in one of 20 various colors. The entire build is a tribute to the high degree of craftsmanship provided through TAW.
Key Features of the 2024 Chevelle 70/SS 396 Heritage Model
- Floor mats and a custom steering wheel
- Plaque with engine specifications
- Body made entirely of carbon fiber
- Brake calipers with custom paint
- Full 3-inch exhaust system with headers
2024 Chevelle 70/SS LS6X 454 Limited Edition: Starting with 900 HP
This LS6X 454 Limited Edition is TAW’s flagship 70/SS, and while it appears very identical to the other choices from the outside, things are significantly different once you look under the hood. The base model is outfitted with a 900 horsepower supercharged 454 V8, which you’d think would be more than enough power for most people.
TAW, on the other hand, believes otherwise, and offers two twin-turbocharged systems that produce either 1,000 or 1,500 horsepower – that’s more than three times the factory power of an original 1970 Chevy Chevelle 454, which was considered the best (and most powerful) muscle vehicle of its time. Pushing all that power through the 335mm wide Michelin rear tires must be a major task on the road.
The Most Powerful Iteration Is The Chevelle 70/SS LS6X 454 Limited Edition.
A lowering spring kit and improved sway bar are fitted as standard to make the 70/SS more road-friendly – it’s standard across the range, but we’re betting it’ll be most appreciated by LS6X 454 Limited Edition owners. This Chevy Chevelle emulation will be strictly limited to 25 units; we’re hoping that a significant part of those will be fully spec out to be the 1,500 horsepower model.
TAW outfitted the 70/SS with a ‘drag pack’ and large Wilwood brakes – 6-piston calipers up front and 4-piston units at the rear, both clamping onto massive drilled and grooved discs.
In addition to all of the features that adorn these automobiles, this more exclusive and powerful trim can be painted in any color scheme owners like, so the degree of customization possible on this re-imagined Chevrolet Chevelle is truly limitless.
Limited Edition 2024 Chevelle 70/SS LS6X 454 Important Characteristics
- Spring package reduction
- Sway bar upgrade bundle
- Heritage door handles in shaved or chrome finish
- Drag package for the 1,500 hp model
- Wilwood For the 1,500-horsepower variant, 6-piston front and 4-piston rear calipers are mounted on drilled and grooved discs.
2024 Chevelle SS
The idea of bringing back an iconic name in the automotive industry has always conjured up an image of majesty. Rendering runs rampant with modern cornering, updated drivetrain, and advanced suspension. When it comes to the behemoths of the muscle car era, I think most would agree that the 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS was right in the middle, in terms of the iconic car that changed the way we view motorized transportation.
Unfortunately, the Chevelle name has been lost for 45 years. But, thanks to Trans Am Worldwide, Chevelle is making big profits in 2024 as the 70/SS.
Trans Am Worldwide is currently under construction, you guessed it, Trans Ams. However, they built their interpretation of what Trans Am would have been like today had Pontiac not been shut down by the Generals. To broaden their horizons, they have designed and built from the ground up, a car they believed would live up to the Chevelle namesake.
Badged as the 70/SS, Trans Am Worldwide took stylistic cues from the original 1970 model while at the same time placing their modern interpretation on top of it.
Starting with the new sixth-generation Camaro as the foundation, the designers completely revamped every part of its exterior. The only area left untouched is the windshield. As you can see, every body panel has been reshaped to pay homage to the classic ’70 Chevelle Super Sport. They even widened the rear of the car with new quarter panels, a deck lid, and a bumper.
The interior remains largely Camaro. However, the 70/SS received retro-style upholstery and carpeting. The 70/SS badges and Hurst cue ball shift knob are also nice touches.
2024 Chevy Chevelle with the cover pulled from the car very reminiscent of an old engine. As the opening host told, the team behind the build went through some challenges, trying to decide where they should use their own interpretation and where they should try to get closer to the original.
When factoring in the proportions of new cars compared to what we saw in the golden era of muscle machines in the ’70s, it certainly sounds like a challenging project to put together while still looking right. However, as we can see, it looks like the crew behind this build did a great job paying homage to the classics while bringing them into the modern era.

2024 Chevy Chevelle Specs
Trans Am Worldwide will offer the 70/SS with multiple packages and yes, the top tier promises no less than 1,500 horsepower. Specific details on the engine are not available, but the company says that the range-topper is the LS6/X 454 with two turbochargers producing “1,500 road-able rear-wheel horsepower”. Only these 25 monsters will be built.
For those who want something less extreme but still crazy, there is a 6.4 liter (396 cubic inch) V8 engine that produces 900 hp (671 kW). The starting point for the 70/SS is the standard Camaro 450 hp (336-kW) LT1 V8. Automatic or manual transmissions are available, as are the upgraded suspension, wheels, and brakes. Buyers can choose from eight heritage colors or ten modern shades for the exterior, or if there is a specific color you prefer, customization is welcome.
New 2024 Chevy Chevelle Report
Not from Chevrolet, but from Trans Am Worldwide, the Tallahassee-based company that rose to prominence for turning the Chevrolet Camaro into a modernized version of the 1970s Pontiac Firebird Trans Am, giving people the opportunity to fix “Smoky and the Bandit” without having to drive a car. 40 years old. Customs $100,000+ became so popular that Discovery even made a television series about the company.
Trans Am Worldwide has also made GTO-style cars but is now turning its attention to the 1970 Chevelle SS with its new 70/SS offering.
The car started its life as a convertible Camaro, which Trans Am Worldwide owner Tod Warmack told Fox News Autos was made for an easier platform to update the body, which is significantly more different from the Camaro than the company’s Trans Ams.

Chevelle 70/SS 2024
An air of majesty has always been conjured up when the prospect of bringing back a historic name in the automotive industry is mentioned. With current cornering, an upgraded drivetrain, and cutting-edge suspension, rendering is rampant. The 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS was bang in the middle of the behemoths of the muscle car period, in terms of the iconic vehicle that altered how we perceive motorized transportation, I believe most people would agree. Unfortunately, it has been 45 years since the Chevelle name was revived. But like the 70/SS in 2024, Chevelle is making significant profits because of Trans Am Worldwide.
You guessed it, Trans Am Worldwide is now building new Trans Ams. But they developed their idea of what Pontiac would have looked like today had the Generals not ordered its closure. They constructed a car from the ground up that they thought would live up to the Chevelle moniker in an effort to widen their horizons. Trans Am Worldwide, which goes by the moniker “70/SS,” borrowed styling cues from the original 1970 model while also superimposing its own contemporary interpretation on top of it.
The designers redesigned the entire exterior, starting with the sixth-generation Camaro as their base. The windscreen is the only area that has not been damaged. Every body panel has been modified to look like the iconic 1970 Chevelle Super Sport, as you can see. With new bumpers, deck covers, and quarter panels, the back of the car was even made wider. Most of the interior is still Camaro. The 70/SS, however, had carpets and upholstery with a throwback design. The Hurst cue ball shift knob and the 70/SS insignia are both good additions.
You better not be short on horsepower if you’re going to construct a car to revive the Chevelle. The 70/SS does admirably in this area. An automobile can be ordered with one of three available powertrains. The 450-horsepower LT1 from the Camaro serves as the base engine. A 396 cubic inch LT engine with 900 horsepower can be fitted if you desire more power and excitement. The 70/SS may be ordered with a 454 cubic inch LS6/X twin turbocharger pack if you’re like us and want to go all in. The most powerful model has 1,500 horsepower.
The 70/SS was available with a manual or automatic gearbox, as well as an upgraded suspension. For those who like the coupe look, simply click the box for the removable hard top option. There are ten contemporary metallic and pearl colors as well as eight traditional colors available. If customs colors are your thing, you can even make your own. Wheel and tire kits, unique graphics, unlocked carbon fiber, and brake enhancements are additional choices.
2024 Chevy Chevelle Exterior
The car features reshaped fenders and a new front end with quad headlights, twin square grilles, and a new version of the chiseled Chevelle front bumper. The rear has been extended and features a new trunk lid and square taillights, while a removable hardtop is available for those who prefer coupe style.
2024 Chevy Chevelle Interior
The interior is largely a remnant of the Camaro but features retro 1970s-style seats and a trellis shift lever.
While Trans Am Worldwide owns the rights to the Trans Am name, it will not use Chevelle for its new car. Maybe a Chevrolet maybe, but it will need to renew the trademark next year if it is to keep it up.
2024 Chevy Chevelle 70/SS
This modern 2024 Chevy Chevelle uses Camaro bones, a 1,500-HP 70/SS Blow Pack made by Trans Am Worldwide. The 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 stands out in the era of the original muscle car. Depending on who you talk to, it was the classic muscle king but by the late 1970s, Chevelle was dead.
Florida-based Trans Am Worldwide now offers a modern take on the classics and doesn’t skimp on power. In fact, up to 1,500 horsepower (1,119 kilowatts) is available. Launched last week, the 70/SS is a re-polished Chevrolet Camaro and we mean completely re-polished.
The only exterior component of the Camaro remains is the windshield; Trans Am Worldwide swaps everything and that includes a cool induction cowl hood reminiscent of the original SS 454. The fenders and doors have straighter lines to better represent the old Chevelle, and there’s even a dot on the nose that resembles the original car.
Moving inside, the Camaro’s greenhouse remains largely the same. You’ll find new retro-themed seats, and there’s special 70/SS branding on the door panels and instrument cluster. Even the carpet was replaced with a loop carpet that looks more like something you’d find from 1970.
Arguably the best touch to the interior is the classic Hurst shifter, crowned with a cue ball knob for shifting gears. Anyway, time to talk about the powertrain.

2024 Chevy Chevelle Powertrain
For those who want something less extreme but still crazy, there is a 6.4 liter (396 cubic inches) V8 engine that produces 900 hp (671 kW).
Chevy Chevelle Engine 2024
If you’re going to build a car to bring Chevelle back to life, you better not be short on horsepower. The 70/SS does an excellent job in this department. You can order a car with one of three powerplant options. The base engine is the 450-horsepower LT1 found in the Camaro. If you want more power and excitement, a 396 cubic inch LT engine producing 900 horsepower can be installed.
If you’re like us and want to go all in, the 70/SS can be had with a 454 cubic inch LS6/X twin turbocharger pack. The top-tier offering makes 1,500 horsepower.
The 70/SS was offered in manual and automatic transmission versions, and there were also suspension upgrades. Simply check the box for the optional removable hard top for those who want the coupe look. Eight heritage colors are available, as well as ten modern metallic and pearl colors to choose from. You can even choose your own custom color if that’s what you want. Additional options include wheel and tire packages, custom graphics, carbon fiber unlocked, and brake upgrades.
We can’t wait to see the 70/SS in the real world hit the streets. If you’re interested in ordering one, you might want to be quick, as only 25 70/SS units with the LS6/X engine package will be produced.
Most importantly, under the hood, there are various options that tiptoe into the four-figure horsepower range. The car comes standard with the 450 hp LT1 but buyers will also have the option of upgrading to 396 cubic inches 900 horsepower wheels or the top tier of power that the LS6/X twin turbo 454 makes 1500 hp.
The Fans Chevy Chevelle 2024
In a forum ‘thehulltruth” a senior member said that he was a big fan of the Chevelle 70 because it was his first car. The username “1blueheron” also mentions Prototypes/renderings/photos are currently promising but need improvement IMHO.
The rear wheel also needs more revealing at the top to look right. It’s too thick. A little flare might help, maybe a widebody issue? The same goes for the front fascia and bumper. The lines don’t flow and look cohesive, the headlight bezel/bezel is too flat. I want to see the hard-top version. Convertibles always seem awkward.
I think it’s interesting that Dodge is discontinuing the ICE muscle car platform while GM appears to be launching a new one. Maybe GM sees this as an opportunity to own the segment or at least share it with the Ford Mustang.
I also think it’s rude to put the SS badge on anything but a top-tier V8 power station. Is it true that the 4, 6, and 8-cylinder versions will all carry the SS badge?
Want to see some specifications on this car and its comfort features? This sector has long been neglected by Government Motors. The Camaro and Corvette both offer a lot of performance but are not comfortable to drive for your average middle-aged man going through a midlife crisis.
I am relatively short and the Camaro seems very tight to me. Almost claustrophobic. Also interested to see where it falls in the price spectrum. They may have had the same problem with the ZL1 Camaro crashing into the entry-level Corvette.
