2019 Chevy Traverse Redline Black The current second-generation Chevy Traverse is the right product at the right time: it is not only a brand new and competitive vehicle, but also a crossover – that makes it the right vehicle at exactly the right time. In fact, traverse sales have set new monthly records in the last 8 months. For the 2019 model year, the biggest Chevy CUV gets some slight adjustments and updates.
On the outside, the 2019 Chevy Traverse receives a new premier badge on the liftgate, as well as new bright truss cross rails on the premier (1Lz) and High Country (2LZ) models when ordered with the hit the road package. For the previous model year, the roof girder cross rails were black, the black units are now only available on the models LT, RS and Redline Edition.
Rounded off the exterior of the changes on the outside is the deletion of 18-inch bright silver-plated face painted aluminum wheels. The units have been bundled with the 2FL and 1lt trim steps, and these models are now being standard 18-inch bright silver painted aluminum wheels.
Arguably the most notable change to the 2019 traverse is this: the user-activated heated steering wheel is replaced by the new auto-heated steering wheel, which automatically switches on when a selectable automatic activation is enabled.
The rest of the changes is for packages. Initially, the cargo package no longer includes the integrated cargo liner LPO level, which is now included in the floor liner package. and second, the premium carpet mat package is now available only on high-country models (2LZ). On the 2018 traverse it was available on LS, lt and 1LZ.
The Chevrolet Traverse is a complete crossover commercial vehicle (CUV). It is the largest Chevrolet crossover currently offered and is located above the subcompact Chevrolet Trax and the compact Chevrolet Equinox. It will also be about the much-rumbling, future Chevrolet Blazer.
The current model was introduced for the model year 2018 and represents the second generation of Traverse nameplate. Compared to the predecessor of the first generation, the second-gen Traverse is a brand new vehicle that is larger, lighter, slimmer and more modern. It also introduces new intersections, including high land and RS, none of which were present on the first-generation model.

The first generation of traverse drove on the GM Lambda platform, which was shared with the Saturn Outlook, Buick Enclave and GMC Acadia. The second gen rides on the extended GM C1 platform, which is shared with the second generation of the Buick enclave. A shorter version of the same platform underpins the second-Gen GMC Acadia and Cadillac XT5.
For the model year 2019, which represents the second year of production of the second-gen Traverse, the Traverse has received some minor updates, including an automatic heated steering wheel, a new premier badge for the tailgate and more.
The Chevrolet Traverse is built in the GM Delta Lansing Township in Michigan, operated by GM USA. It is currently the only facility that builds the vehicle next to the second Gen Buick Enclave.
